Cédric BOUTEILLER

Born in 1970 in Rognac, in the south of France, Cédric Bouteiller is an artist who lives and works in the Midi.

In high school, he moved towards illustration and graphic experimentation, in particular drawing inspiration from artists like Gustave Klimt or Salvador Dali. Gently, Cédric begins working on the painted material  which he is especially passionate about the texture that he manipulates with a knife or spatula.

Often compared to an alchemist, Cédric Bouteiller speculates on oxidation, hardening or evaporation. The slightest residue can fuel his paintings. In his workshop, drawing tables, work plans dedicated to his polyepoxides, paint trays and cans of thinners are mixed.

With his essential work of Street Art, the artist Cédric Bouteiller knew how to create his own universe inspired by his references of youth and Pop-culture. A New York building emerges, a feminine look holds our attention, the main character of our favorite cartoon makes us sketch a slight smile. Each work is part of the past, the present and the future.

Passionate about photography, photomontage plays an important part in his work. He reinvents and goes beyond simple photography. In fact, the faces of his "Iconics" are made up of a multitude of cult celebrity portraits. Through them Cédric Bouteiller pays tribute to celebrities he like. To this is added a work with projection of paint, collage of stickers or posters and graffiti to make the work of art unique.
